Sparta and the movie "300"

Sparta? You can hardly find it on the map of Greece today.

After the 300 died for nil at Marathon, that ethos went by the wayside when nobody else followed that example.

In the end Athens who lost the Peloponnesian war was the only place that would be remembered for its contribution to Western civilization.

Democracy was born there not in the military camp that was Sparta.
