Thanks for the Iraqi invasion
Islamofascists of today were our beloved friends the mujahideens in the 1979-1989 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan when the USA armed, trained and supported them.
The chemicals that gassed the Kurds (and the Iranians) in the 1980-1988 Iraq-Iran War (the Reagan years) were supplied happily and with no questions asked by the American Republicans.
The Carlyle Group thanks you. The Jewish Lobby thanks you. The Kurds thank you. Iran may thank you (depending). Russia may be enjoying this déjà vu moment.
I remember Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam Hussein. I don't recall any Soviet sharing a photo-op with Saddam Hussein. My bad?
